“Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.” Isaiah 55:6 NIV
Our text instructs us to seek the Lord while He might be found. It is fair to say that there isn’t a person in this world that this command doesn’t relate to. There is no one that can say, ‘I don’t think that I really need to seek the Lord’. This is a command from God that applies equally to the Christian and non-Christians alike. We may never have been born again but this verse is telling us that we need to seek the Lord for our eternal life depends on it. We may have become a Christian but have worries and doubts and lack the assurance of salvation, we need to seek the Lord. We may be faced with problems, be they health, financial, or relationship issues. Maybe we don’t know the way forward, we need to seek the Lord. We may be considering what direction to take in this life, we need to seek the Lord! Or maybe, just maybe, we aren’t asking for anything from the Lord but have a growing inward desire to know the Lord in a deeper way. Yes! Seek the Lord! We need to be in the ‘Pursuit of God’ as A.W.Tozer put it. There is so much in this world that seeks to blind the eyes of the non-Christian to the truth about God and there is so much that seeks to draw the Christian away from their Lord. To make matters worse, the Bible declares that it is only going to get worse leading up to the return of Jesus Christ. Have we noticed that when we stop pursing and seeking the Lord that we do not remain in a motionless state?
PRAYER THOUGHT
Lord, as we seek You, we will find You.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Thank you Lord, as we seek You, and hunger for You, we will find You for You are waiting for us. AMEN
