HIS CALL

“For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.”               Romans 11:29 NIV

What a magnificent gift our Lord has given us, when He called us to be His disciples. Even when our lives do not reflect this call, our Lord does not change His mind with reference to our call. No matter if we are suffering hatred/separation/trouble from the world or from our own family as Joseph suffered, when his own brothers harmed him, put him in the pit, then later sold him as a slave in the hands of the Egyptians, but Joseph, who was by then the in-charge/caretaker of Egypt tells his brothers, “ you intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.” (Genesis 50:20) God is the author and finisher of our lives, the Alpha and Omega of our lives. God, who has called us into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ, our Lord, is faithful. (1 Corinthians 1:9) Therefore, whatever happens in our lives, our situations and circumstances happen according to the foreknowledge and plan of God (Romans 8:29a). As we receive God’s call into our lives through His Word, we shouldn’t just keep quiet, but we should take that call deeper and deeper into our everyday living. As the rain comes down on the earth and it seeps into the earth and makes it bud and flourish which blossoms out and yields seed for the Sower and bread for the eater (Isaiah 55:10). So should our call be, taking deep roots into our lives and bringing forth the bud and to flourish and yielding seeds for the Sower, our Lord and bread for the eater, being a blessing for others. Remind yourself of His call upon your life.
