“Come and see what God has done, His awesome deeds for mankind!” Psalm 66:5 NIV
“Come and see what God has done”! Perhaps this should be our call to worship each day, not only on Sundays. “Come and see what God has done” for us in Christ Jesus. Consider our redemption in Christ Jesus, our Saviour and Lord and “Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Make his praise glorious.” (Psalm 66:1-2 NIV). How important it is for us to “Come and see what God has done”, especially in times of difficulty when we are plagued by trials and tribulations, when we fix our eyes upon Jesus Christ, Lord of lords and King of kings, and the work that He has accomplished for us in His life, death, burial, resurrection, ascension and the outpouring of His Holy Spirit in our lives, empowering us to live the Christian life, not in our own strength but in His strength alone. When we do this, we gain perspective of our situation and circumstances through the eyes of Jesus. It is only after we consider our redemption in Christ that we are able to confidently say with Paul, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). “Come and see what God has done.” That is the invitation that we should extend to one another each day, and this is the invitation that we are to extend to the world. Consider His work of redemption, not only accomplished in the days of Noah, Abraham, Moses and David, but completely in Jesus Christ.
PRAYER THOUGHT
Lord, we choose to consider afresh what You have done for us in Christ.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, we choose to consider Your work of redemption, not only accomplished in the days of Noah, Abraham, Moses and David, but completely in Jesus Christ. We praise You for the new life that we have in Jesus Christ. AMEN
