NO FEAR OF BAD NEWS

“They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”        Psalm 112:7 NIV

This a powerful verse! It speaks of a person who trusts in God, who trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ. When that is the posture of our lives, our daily lives, waking up trusting in the Lord, walking throughout the day trusting in the Lord, it means our hearts will be firm. Don’t we want a heart that is firm, a life that is resting on a sure foundation, knowing that our Lord has our life in His hands and that He is trustworthy, the One who knows everything that was and is and is to come. The One who knows everything that is going to happen in our lives holds us in His loving hands. Let us rest in this reality. Let us take heart in this. This is what is afforded to us through the good news of Jesus Christ. We have a firm place to stand, in Christ Jesus, our Saviour and Lord. We don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. We don’t know what’s going to happen a year from now. But we know this: our lives are in the hands of our loving Saviour and Lord, and we can trust Him with everything we have, everything around us. He is trustworthy! Therefore, we don’t have to be afraid of bad news, whatever the bad news. What a great way to live. Although there are all kinds of bad news, there is a reality that comes in trusting in the Lord. The reality is that our Lord Jesus is good, He loves us and we know that He is working all things together for our good. We know that in the end He is going to wipe away every tear from our eyes.

PRAYER THOUGHT

Lord, even with bad news, we are trusting in Your faithfulness.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, the reality, even with bad news, is that You are good, You love us and You are working all things together for our good, and in the end, You are going to wipe away every tear from our eyes. AMEN
